Arrest of Bus Driver in Petaluma

Petaluma Transit Bus Driver Arrested on Suspicion of Annoying a Minor

Lloyd Robinson, a 41-year-old bus driver with Petaluma Transit, was arrested on Tuesday following the evacuation of a fast food restaurant. Robinson, a resident of Rohnert Park, was taken into custody on suspicion of annoying or molesting a child under 18 years old.

This development arose from an investigation conducted by Petaluma Police Detectives into allegations of lewd behavior, specifically involving a minor. The detectives developed probable cause to arrest Robinson and arrived at North McDowell Boulevard for this purpose.

However, upon reaching the building where Robinson was last seen, the officers were unable to locate him. The police were then informed that Robinson was hiding in a fast food restaurant on North McDowell Boulevard. Additional units were dispatched, and the restaurant was evacuated under the belief that Robinson had barricaded himself inside.

Despite the evacuation, Robinson was not found in the restaurant. The police later discovered that he was still hiding in the first building. After making contact with Robinson via phone, he was finally arrested.

This incident underscores the importance of comprehensive background checks and thorough scrutiny in the hiring process, particularly in roles that involve close contact with vulnerable populations such as minors.
