Potrero Fire Destroys Two Structures, Scorches Over 460 Acres

A wildfire, known as the Coyote fire, broke out north of Tecate, leading to the destruction of two structures and scorching more than 460 acres of land. The fire, which started around 12:30 p.m., is located approximately five miles north of Tecate.

In the process of combating the fire, a firefighter suffered a heat-related injury and was treated and subsequently released.

Currently, firefighting crews have managed to contain about 10% of the Coyote fire. Efforts to combat the blaze and prevent further damage continue.
