Pacoima auto yard on fire

Raging Auto Yard Fire Engulfs Multiple Vehicles in Pacoima

A large-scale fire involving multiple vehicles broke out at an auto yard in Pacoima early Tuesday. The fire, which was escalated to a greater alarm, was reported just after 4 a.m. in the 12400 block of West Branford Street, according to a news alert from the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Upon arrival, fire crews discovered multiple fires burning within the fenced auto yard, with numerous vehicles stacked atop one another. This created a particularly challenging situation for the firefighters, who faced difficulties accessing adequate water supplies at the hydrant locations. Efforts were made to secure alternate water sources to combat the blaze.

The intense nature of the fire prompted the firefighters to adopt a defensive strategy, utilizing ladder pipes and large diameter hand lines to control the fire’s spread.

Thankfully, no injuries have been reported in connection with the fire. This incident underlines the need for stringent fire safety measures and protocols in potentially high-risk areas such as auto yards, to prevent such events and ensure rapid, effective responses when they occur.
