In a disturbing incident in San Francisco, a man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting an elderly woman, leaving her with life-threatening injuries. The assault occurred on Stockton Street between Ellis Street and O’Farrell Street around 11:15 p.m. on Friday. The woman was found at the scene and taken to a hospital.
Officers from the San Francisco Police Department also located a second victim who was reportedly spat on by the same man. This victim informed the police that the suspect assaulted the elderly woman without provocation.
The suspect, identified as 27-year-old James Ramsey, was detained by passersby until police arrived. Ramsey has been booked into jail on charges of assault likely to produce great bodily injury, crime against an elder, assault and battery, committing a felony while on bail, and resisting arrest. He also had an existing arrest warrant from Alameda County.
