Santa Clara Police Seek to Identify Pedestrian Fatally Struck by SUV

Santa Clara police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a woman who was fatally struck by an SUV in the early hours of Sunday. The woman, believed to be between 25-35 years old, had brown hair, blue eyes, several tattoos, and was of average weight and height. Police stated she could be white or Hispanic.

The tragic accident was reported just before 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. According to the Santa Clara Police Department, their investigation revealed that a Honda SUV was traveling northbound on Lawrence Expressway toward Monroe Street when the woman, who was walking in a crosswalk on Monroe Street, was hit.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the vehicle, a 49-year-old male resident of Campbell, remained at the scene and fully cooperated with SCPD. Police noted that drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the collision.
