Authorities with the Los Angeles Police Department are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a hit-and-run driver in Pacoima who fatally struck a man in his 50’s on Tuesday.
The deadly collision occurred around 11:20 p.m. when a dark-colored sedan traveling eastbound on Paxton Street, east of Glenoaks Boulevard, collided with the man. Surveillance footage reveals the sedan continued eastbound on Paxton Street, failing to stop, render aid, or identify themselves.
Los Angeles Fire Department medical personnel responded to the scene and transported the man to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Los Angeles Coroner’s office has yet to identify the man.
The LAPD is urging anyone with information about the incident or who was in the area of Paxton Street and Glenoaks Boulevard around the time of the collision to contact them. The department is also reminding drivers to stop and identify themselves after a collision, and advising pedestrians to exercise caution when crossing streets and obey traffic rules.
A reward of up to $50,000 is being offered to individuals who provide information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the suspect. The pursuit of justice in this case emphasizes the importance of community vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement in the resolution of crimes.
