Seeking Justice for Rachel Morin: A Call to Action in Los Angeles
The tragic murder of Rachel Morin in rural Maryland earlier this year has left her family devastated and searching for answers. Now, with new evidence linking her killer to a home invasion in Los Angeles, they are taking an unconventional approach to find justice.
Rachel Morin, a 37-year-old mother of five, was reported missing on August 7th after going for a nature walk in Harford County, Maryland. The following day, her body was discovered along a popular hiking trail near the town of Bel Air. The brutality of her death shocked the community and left her family desperate for answers.
In a significant breakthrough, authorities announced in August that DNA evidence had connected Rachel Morin’s murder to a home invasion and assault in Los Angeles. Surveillance footage from a home security system captured a man leaving a residence in the city’s South Central region on March 26th. The suspect, described as a Hispanic man in his 20s, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, is now believed to be responsible for both the Los Angeles assault and Rachel Morin’s murder.
Determined to bring the perpetrator to justice, Rachel Morin’s family and their lawyers have launched a unique campaign in Los Angeles. Partnering with the United States Postal Service’s Targeted Mailing Program, they have distributed flyers to over 58,000 residents in the area. The flyers, printed in both Spanish and English, aim to reach anyone who may recognize the suspect and provide crucial information that could lead to his arrest.
“The goal of the campaign is to reach anyone who recognizes the perpetrator and inform them that the same man murdered Maryland mother Rachel Morin,” said representatives from the Rice, Murtha and Psoras law firm. They firmly believe that within the Los Angeles neighborhood where the crime occurred, there are individuals who can assist law enforcement in apprehending the suspect and preventing further attacks.
To incentivize potential informants, a $30,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest. The Morin family, supported by their attorneys, is determined to ensure that the person responsible for Rachel’s murder faces the consequences of their heinous act. They see the Los Angeles security footage as the most significant lead yet and are hopeful that it will provide the breakthrough they desperately seek.
Randolph Rice, managing partner of the law firm, emphasized the family’s unwavering commitment to finding justice for Rachel Morin. He stated, “The Morin family deserves answers, and this is just one more step in our efforts to deliver it. We are confident that the flyer, in the right hands, will provide information about the suspect that will lead to his capture.”
If you have any information regarding Rachel Morin’s murder or the identity of the suspect, please contact the Harford County Sheriff’s Office via email or call 410-836-7788. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through L.A. Crime Stoppers.
As personal injury bloggers, we stand in solidarity with the Morin family and their quest for justice. We hope that the combined efforts of law enforcement, the community, and the distribution of these flyers will bring closure to this heartbreaking case and prevent further harm to innocent lives.
