Seeking Justice for the Victims: Personal Injury Bloggers React
In a disturbing and tragic case, a Fontana man, Samuel Haskell IV, appeared in court on Friday, accused of killing his wife and in-laws and then dismembering at least one of their bodies. Additionally, Haskell has made an abrupt change in his defense, replacing his previous attorney with a new one.
The charges against Haskell include murder in the deaths of his wife, Mei Haskell, 27, her mother, Yanxiang Wang, 64, and her stepfather, Gaoshan Li, 72. The details of the crime are chilling. Haskell allegedly hired four day laborers to remove heavy black plastic trash bags from the Tarzana home where he lived with his wife, children, and in-laws. One of the laborers discovered human body parts in one of the bags and immediately called 911. Unfortunately, the bags disappeared before the police arrived.
Surveillance footage captured Haskell disposing of a large trash bag into a dumpster off Ventura Boulevard in Encino, approximately five miles from his home. The following day, a person looking through the dumpster found a woman’s torso in a duffel bag and called 911. Subsequent investigation at the Tarzana home revealed evidence consistent with a killing and dismemberment, leading to Haskell’s arrest.
Currently, the bodies of Mei Haskell’s parents have yet to be located, leaving their loved ones in a state of uncertainty and anguish. The couple’s children are now in the custody of relatives, adding another layer of heartbreak to this already devastating situation.
