Simi Valley Neighbors Arrested After Violent Dispute

A violent brawl between two Simi Valley neighbors led to the arrest of both individuals, with each man sustaining serious injuries.

Officers from the Simi Valley Police Department responded to reports of a “neighbor dispute” on the 300 block of Aristotle Street. One of the men involved had allegedly been stabbed.

Upon arrival, officers found 41-year-old David Corralejo, who had sustained a head injury. He claimed to have been hit on the head with a shovel. Corralejo was then transported to a local hospital for treatment of his serious, but non-life-threatening, injury.

The second neighbor, 22-year-old Adam Mathison, initially refused to cooperate with the police and would not leave his home. Over the phone, Mathison informed the authorities that he had been stabbed in the upper chest by Corralejo. After a standoff of roughly 40 minutes, Mathison surrendered to the police and was taken to the hospital for treatment of his significant chest injury.

Both men are expected to be taken to jail once they receive medical clearance, according to the police report.

Incidents such as these highlight the severity and potential legal consequences of violent disputes. It’s a reminder of the importance of solving disagreements peacefully and the potential ramifications when matters escalate.
