Crews from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) spent Wednesday battling a small brush fire at Cahuenga Peak in the Hollywood Hills. The fire was located in “remote and rugged terrain northwest of Mt. Lee,” making it a challenging task for the fire department.
Ground crews, along with air response teams, were dispatched to the area around 5:30 p.m. Aerial footage from Sky5 showed plumes of white smoke rising from the isolated ridge as fire-fighting helicopters sprayed water over the area.
Despite the small size of the brush fire, less than a quarter acre, the difficult terrain made the situation complex. Fortunately, at this time, there have been no reports of injuries related to the fire.
The cause of the fire remains unclear, and the situation is still developing. This incident is a reminder of the ever-present risk posed by brush fires, particularly in rugged and remote areas. It also highlights the critical role of fire departments in responding to such incidents swiftly to minimize potential damage and ensure public safety.
