South Pasadena Crash Claims One Life, Two Critically Injured

In a tragic incident, one person was killed and two others were hospitalized when a car lost control and crashed into a home in South Pasadena.

The unfortunate event occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning, in the 300 block of Orange Grove Avenue near Columbia Street. The vehicle, containing three occupants, was reportedly travelling at nearly 100 miles per hour when the driver lost control. The car crashed into several trees, signposts, and bushes before ultimately slamming into a home’s garage door.

Sadly, one of the passengers was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver and the other passenger were hospitalized in critical condition. The homeowner, who had immediately called authorities after hearing the impact, was unharmed, as were his family members.

Based on preliminary investigations, authorities believe that drugs and alcohol may have played a role in the crash.

Residents in the typically quiet neighborhood shared with local news outlets their concerns about drivers frequently speeding through the area, a problem underscored by the tragic incident that occurred.
