Police Cars and Confiscated Street Racers

Southern California Police Intensify Crackdown on Street Takeovers

The trend of street takeovers and racing continued on Tuesday night in Southern California, prompting police to crack down, resulting in multiple arrests, citations, and vehicle impoundments.

Dozens of cars, bikes, and spectators gathered in a parking lot in Whittier. After police arrived on the scene at the corner of Norwalk and Washington boulevards around 11 p.m., the vehicles dispersed in different directions.

Meanwhile, in Rialto, a street racing detail led to four arrests for exhibition of speed, and another individual was arrested for felony evasion of law enforcement. The Rialto Police Department also impounded four vehicles and issued 20 citations.

Rialto Police Chief Mark P. Kling stressed the deadly risks associated with street racing and urged the community to prioritize responsibility, safety, and respect for others on the road. This crackdown highlights the continued effort by law enforcement to address and deter dangerous street racing activities.
