A driver had to be extricated from his SUV after crashing into a tree in Orange, California early Friday morning.
The accident took place around 12:30 a.m., when the man reportedly lost control of his vehicle and drove into the Orange Circle area near Glassell Street.
Visuals from the scene showed smoke and fire emanating from the wrecked vehicle as police and bystanders rushed to assist the driver.
Firefighters, upon arrival, employed the jaws of life to rescue the injured driver.
The man, whose identity remains undisclosed, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The cause of the crash is currently unknown.
