A tragic incident unfolded in Rancho Palos Verdes on Tuesday afternoon when a vehicle plummeted over a cliff, resulting in at least one confirmed death, as announced by authorities.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department, who responded to the scene near Palos Verdes Drive West and Calle Entradero around 2:45 p.m., found what appears to be a white sport utility vehicle (SUV) 150 feet over the cliffside.
The circumstances leading to the crash remain unclear as of now. Aerial footage from the scene showed the vehicle’s front end completely flattened with debris scattered across the cliffside.
Authorities have yet to confirm if there were any other passengers in the vehicle. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident and to identify any further victims.
