Telegraph Ave. Crime Spree: Daylight Robbery and Car Break-Ins

A crime spree unfolded in Oakland’s Temescal neighborhood on Tuesday morning, with numerous people being robbed and several cars broken into, according to the Oakland Police Department (OPD).

The incidents took place on the 4400 block of Telegraph Ave. shortly after 11:30 a.m. A preliminary investigation by OPD suggests that multiple armed suspects approached a business and demanded valuables from several customers.

Fearing for their safety, the victims complied, handing over their belongings to the robbers. The suspects also broke into several parked cars before fleeing the scene with the stolen goods.

Notably, a cannabis dispensary called Root’d in the 510 is located at 4444 Telegraph Ave, although it’s not explicitly confirmed to be the business in question.

OPD is actively investigating these incidents. They are urging anyone with information related to the crime spree to come forward and contact them at (510) 238-3426.

These incidents highlight the need for heightened vigilance and robust community-police partnerships in crime prevention, particularly in high-traffic areas.
