Tesla Vehicles and Recall Notice

Tesla Recalls Thousands of Vehicles Over Safety Concerns

Tesla has issued a recall for nearly 16,000 of its 2021-2023 Model S and Model X vehicles because of a potential seat belt issue. According to Tesla, in these vehicles, a front-row seat belt may have been improperly reconnected to its pretensioner anchor following a repair. This could result in the seat belt not functioning as intended during a collision, thereby increasing the risk of injury.

In addition to this, Tesla is also recalling over 1,300 of its 2023 Model S, Model X, and Model Y vehicles due to a camera issue. In these vehicles, the pitch angle of the forward-facing cameras may not be aligned properly, potentially disabling certain active safety features, including automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and lane keeping assist, without alerting the driver to their unavailability. This could potentially increase the risk of a collision for drivers relying on these features.

Tesla will be sending notification letters to owners whose vehicles are affected by these recalls. The company has promised to perform free inspections and necessary rectifications for both recalls. These incidents underline the importance of ongoing vehicle maintenance and quality checks in ensuring the safety of drivers and passengers.
