On Sunday afternoon, chaos erupted at Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance when a brawl involving teenagers caused shoppers to flee in panic. Torrance Police responded to the mall, located on West Carson Street, around 4 p.m. following reports of a “large group of juveniles” fighting.
A video obtained by Wilmington Chronicles captures some of the melee, with witnesses screaming and rushing to safety. Amber Treniece, a mall employee, recounts the scene, “We saw like four hundred or five hundred kids just running past [our store]. There were so many.”
In response to the chaos, officers from several agencies, including some in riot gear, arrived at the mall to regain control of the situation. Several people incurred minor injuries and were treated at the scene, while officers issued numerous citations. No arrests were made.
Despite reports of a firearm being discharged during the brawl, no gunshot victims were located. The incident is a stark reminder of the need to ensure public safety, particularly at crowded venues.
