Trader Joe’s, a well-known grocery chain, has had a challenging few weeks with five product recalls issued in just the last month. Here’s a rundown of the items customers should be aware of for their health and safety and to potentially receive a refund.
Firstly, Trader Joe’s recently recalled its “Multigrain Crackers with Sunflower and Flax Seeds.” Boxes bearing “Best If Used By” dates between 03/01/24 and 03/05/24 may contain metal. No injuries have been reported so far. Customers who purchased this product are advised to discard it or return it to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund.
In July, the company issued recalls for two cookie products that could potentially contain rocks. These include the Almond Windmill Cookies (SKU #99744) with Sell-By Dates of 10/19/23-10/21/23 and Dark Chocolate Chunk Almond Cookies (#82752) with Sell-By Dates of 10/17/23-10/21/23. As with the crackers, customers are advised to either dispose of these products or return them to a Trader Joe’s store for a refund.
Trader Joe’s also issued a recall for its “Unexpected Broccoli Cheddar Soup” in July as it may contain insects. The recalled soup (SKU# 68470) has Use By dates of 07/18/23 – 09/15/23.
Finally, a recall was issued for frozen falafel balls that could potentially contain rocks (SKU# 93935). The affected falafel was sold in multiple states across the U.S.
These recalls underscore the importance of stringent quality control in food production, and the need for companies to act swiftly and responsibly when potential health hazards are discovered.
