Tragedy Strikes: Teen Arrested in Hit-and-Run Incident That Claims Lives of Pregnant Mother and Child In a heartbreaking incident, a 15-year-old has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that resulted in the death of a pregnant woman and her child in San Jose. The San Jose Police Department announced the arrest on Monday, revealing that the teenager was allegedly driving a stolen car at the time of the incident. The devastating collision occurred on October 24 when a 2008 black Nissan sedan, driven by a pregnant woman, was traveling eastbound on Blossom Hill Road. A 2013 white Hyundai sedan, occupied by two unknown males, ran a red light while traveling southbound on Winfield Boulevard and collided with the pregnant woman’s car. Immediately after the crash, the occupants of the white Hyundai fled on foot. Police later discovered that the Hyundai was an unreported stolen vehicle. Tragically, the pregnant woman was pronounced deceased at the local hospital, and sadly, her infant succumbed to their injuries the following day, October 25. Following an intensive investigation, Special Operations Officers apprehended the suspect in San Jose on October 28. The teenager has been booked into the Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall, facing various charges related to the incident. This devastating tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the importance of responsible driving and the devastating consequences that can result from reckless behavior on the road.
