Tragic Discovery: Teen’s Body Found on L.A. County Freeway Onramp
In a heartbreaking incident, the lifeless body of a teenager was discovered on a freeway onramp in Pico Rivera, Los Angeles County. The California Highway Patrol swiftly identified the suspect as Marvell Beroit, a 26-year-old man, who has since been taken into custody in connection with the murder of Emily Bortee, an 18-year-old girl.
The discovery was made on October 16 when CHP responded to reports of a body on the Rose Hills Road onramp leading to the northbound 605 freeway. Upon arrival, officers found the lifeless body of Bortee concealed among ivy plants on the onramp.
The investigation into the circumstances leading to Bortee’s tragic death is still ongoing, and details surrounding the events that unfolded have not yet been released. It remains unclear what relationship, if any, the suspect had with the victim.
Following investigations, law enforcement identified Beroit as the prime suspect behind the young woman’s untimely demise. On October 23, he was apprehended and now faces charges of murder. Beroit is currently being held on a bail amount of $2,025,000.
