Twitter has initiated its rebranding process, transitioning to the name ‘X’ and unveiling a new logo. The image of the new logo was projected onto the exterior of the company’s headquarters on Sunday evening.
However, by Monday morning, the projection of the new logo was no longer visible. This simple ‘X’ logo replaces the iconic bird emblem that has represented Twitter since its establishment in 2006.
The rebranding was announced following Elon Musk’s takeover of the company last year. Musk has since passed the CEO reins to Linda Yaccarino, a former marketing director at NBC Universal.
In a statement, Yaccarino expressed excitement about the opportunity to make a new impression with the rebranded platform. She emphasized that while Twitter had already significantly impacted communication, ‘X’ would further transform the global town square.
Meanwhile, Musk continues to face a lawsuit from former Twitter employees who allege they didn’t receive the appropriate severance packages from the tech giant. The details of this transition and its implications are yet to fully unfold.
