Two Women Apprehended for Alameda Robbery, Victim Dragged by Car

Two women were arrested on Tuesday in connection with a robbery incident in Alameda last month, in which the victim was dragged by the suspect’s car. The arrests underscore the importance of thorough investigations and the role of law enforcement in ensuring justice for victims.

On June 25, Alameda Police Department dispatchers received a call about a woman being hit by a car in the 900 block of Broadway. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the victim and several witnesses.

They discovered that the woman had been sitting in her car when someone approached and stole personal items from her vehicle. The suspect fled to their vehicle, and the victim gave chase. During her attempt to recover her belongings, she was dragged by the suspect’s car and suffered injuries.

Despite an exhaustive search of the area, the officers could not locate the suspects at the time. However, detectives took over the case and conducted a comprehensive follow-up investigation.

Their efforts eventually led to the arrest of a 30-year-old woman and a 28-year-old woman on Tuesday. The suspects were booked into Santa Rita Jail, though details about the charges have not been released.

According to the police, the victim expressed her gratitude for the regular updates and praised the persistence of the investigation. This case highlights the crucial role of law enforcement agencies in ensuring public safety and bringing perpetrators to justice.
