A woman lost her life and a man was hospitalized following a fire incident at a residence in Ventura. The Ventura Fire Department reported that firefighters responded to the incident at a single-family home at approximately 8:45 a.m. on a Friday morning. The exact location of the house was not immediately disclosed by the authorities.
Upon arrival, the firefighting crews found a severe fire with a report of an individual trapped inside. The crews swiftly entered the building to fight the fire and conduct a search for the reported victim. The Ventura Fire Department confirmed in a statement that a deceased female was found within the residence.
The identity of the deceased female remains undisclosed. Meanwhile, an unidentified man sustained burns and smoke inhalation injuries while trying to put out the fire using a garden hose. He was treated at the scene and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care. The relationship between the man and the woman or whether they lived together is yet to be established.
The fire was successfully extinguished by a team of 28 firefighting personnel, within 14 minutes of their arrival. The exact cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
