Victorville Man Arrested in Connection with Fatal Stabbing

A 24-year-old man from Victorville has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred in May. Taj Carter was arrested in Hesperia on Monday, following the death of 24-year-old Tyreque Oshay Scott, as per a news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Scott suffered multiple sharp force injuries on May 24 in the 14200 block of Rodeo Drive in Victorville. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he died shortly after.

The details that led law enforcement officials to Carter have not been released, only that he was positively identified as the suspect.

Carter is currently held at the Central Detention Center on a $1 million bail for the murder charge. However, jail records show that he is being held without bail on other charges, including domestic violence causing corporal injury.

Carter is due to appear in Victorville Superior Court on Thursday for the murder charge. He also has scheduled appearances in San Bernardino Superior Court on Wednesday and in Postrelease Community Supervision court on Monday.

This arrest underscores the relentless efforts of local law enforcement agencies in investigating and solving violent crimes, ensuring justice is served for the victims and their families.
