Woman Injured in Hit-and-Run Incident in South Los Angeles

A woman was severely injured in a hit-and-run incident in the Historic South-Central neighborhood of South Los Angeles early Sunday morning, prompting the Los Angeles Police Department to seek a “box style” vehicle in connection with the crime.

The incident occurred around 3:45 a.m. at 27th Street and Griffith Avenue when a woman riding a mini motorized “pocket bike” was struck by the vehicle, which could resemble a Kia Soul, Honda Element, Scion xB, or Nissan Cube, according to an LAPD press release.

The woman was transported to a local hospital with severe but non-life-threatening injuries.

The LAPD has released footage of the suspected vehicle and is appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the car and its driver. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to the driver’s identification, apprehension, conviction, or resolution through a civil compromise.
