Foster Farms Recalls Mini Corn Dogs Due to Spoilage

Foster Farms is recalling approximately 76,961 pounds of their mini corn dog products due to spoilage concerns, bringing attention to food safety law, and the importance of maintaining high standards in food production and distribution.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has deemed these products unfit for human consumption following complaints regarding an odor, off appearance, and unpleasant taste associated with the products. The affected products are 1.83-pound resealable bags of “Foster Farms Mini Corn Dogs Bite-Sized Chicken Franks Dipped in Batter Honey Crunchy Flavor.”

These products, produced on April 24, 2023, were distributed to retailers nationwide. They are identifiable by the lot codes 123114 and 223114, a “best if used by date” of April 23, 2024, and an establishment number “P- 9136” printed on the package.

While no reported illnesses or injuries have been linked to these products, officials are urging consumers who have these items in their freezers to either discard them or return them to the place of purchase.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of strict food safety measures and the potential risks associated with spoiled food products.
